SEARCH Foundation Raises Over $75,000 At Cabaret 2009

The SEARCH Foundation hosted its 11th annual “Cabaret” fundraiser this January in San Diego at The Special Event Show 2009. The SEARCH Foundation supports event professionals confronted with a catastrophic occurrence and fosters, develops and promotes educational initiatives for the advancement of the industry. An estimated 300 guests attended the event held at the On Broadway Event Center.

Marvelous Mark emceed the event, but the real talent of the night was awarded to the many special event professionals that performed in front of their peers. The performances ranged from singing, dancing, comedy and even a puppet show.

Many silent auction items were generously donated by industry sponsors along with some amazing live auction items, including trips to New York, Las Vegas, Hawaii, and Boston to watch the Red Sox play.
Although the stage was shared throughout the entire night, the true stars were the many attendees that gave generously to the SEARCH cause. Whether it was by pledging money, bidding on an auction item or even just attending the event, all guests helped make a difference.

DC Hosts Carnival for SEARCH

Show-off your generous spirit by supporting the SEARCH Foundation at April’s ISES DC carnival. This outrageously fun reception will be hosted at Georgetown’s chic new private club, L2 Lounge with the help of DC’s craziest carnies (a.k.a. hot industry professionals). All proceeds from this playfully off-beat event will go to the SEARCH Foundation benefiting those in the industry who face catastrophic circumstances. ISES Orlando Chapter Raises Funds for SEARCH

In September, the ISES Orlando Chapter kicked off its 2008-09 program series with its second installment of “ISES Gives Back.” This year’s event, entitled “ISES Gives Back 2 SEARCH,” attracted close to 200 attendees to the Heaven Event Center in Orlando, Fla. Thanks to an aggressive media plan, this event garnered notable media attention, including a photo spread in OrlandoStyle Magazine and an appearance by a local TV news anchor. But underneath all of the glitz and excitement, there was also meaning and purpose. The drive behind the event was the message of giving back to special event professionals in need.

The overall concept of this year’s event was to create a glamorous, lounge-type winter wonderland-theme event entitled “Heavenly Holidaze”—a fitting approach that tied into the 7,000-square-foot Heaven Event Center. The design objective was to show off holiday theme decor and entertainment ideas in advance of the holiday season. The result? An impressive lineup of more than 40 ISES companies that collaborated and showcased more than$100,000 worth of event services and products, as well as donated items to be auctioned at the event.

“ISES Gives Back 2 SEARCH” displayed the amazing teamwork of event professionals and their resources in producing an over-the-top themed event! And the motive behind the event—the effort to give back to our industry friends in need—was a success as well becausea donation on behalf of the ISES Orlando chapter and supporting sponsors was sent to SEARCH.
